Dear
Webreader,
Welcome to AFRICA CALLING section of The Global South, a
Globalom Media production. This monthly e-journal was launched in
March 1999.
AFRICA CALLING is purported to be a window on a part of the
world that is often portrayed as a "dark continent",
plagued as it is by wars, environmental disasters and Aids. But it is
a continent with a future, a future that will shape the destiny of our
world.
We invite you to join us in making AFRICA CALLING a success. To
start with, we are including in this section only reports by Tunde
Akingbade in Lagos. Reports from elsewhere in Africa will follow
soon. Meanwhile, you may also like to click on NORTH
AMERICA CALLING, EUROPE
CALLING and ASIA
CALLING. If you are particularly interested in South Asia,
we recommend our sister publication SOUTH
ASIAN OUTLOOK.
